As of Oct. 17, the Rotary Soup Luncheon has raised $2,666. $2,500 of the proceeds will go the Rotary 5th Grade Career Fair. The remainder will go to other club projects and programs. Each member is required to purchase/sell 7 tickets at $5/ticket ($35). 33 members owe for tickets – this is $1,155 in outstanding proceeds. Members who have not paid by the Oct. 24 meeting will be billed via email.
In addition to member ticket sales, the total raised to date includes tickets purchased at the door $65 ($10 less than last year) and Split-the-Pot $293 ($85 more than last year). Thank you to Rick Killion for donating his Split-the-Pot winnings back to the club! Thank you to Keith Jones for selling raffle tickets and doing drawings.
343 tickets were taken (68 more than last year): 330 from member sales (70 more than last year), 13 from tickets purchased at the door (2 less than last year). Thank you to Steve Chamley for having the highest ticket sales - 28 ($140)! Thank you to Jon Leu for posting an announcement in The Daily Nonpareil "Community Calendar."
The only expense was $350 for the Masonic Temple rental. Everything else was donated. Main Event Catering (Barb Murphy) donated salad and salad dressing. Hy-Vee donated soup crackers, rolls and butter. IWCC (Dan Kinney) donated silverware, plates, bowls, cups and napkins. HGM (Ron Tekippe, Jared Olson) donated flyers, signs and tickets. Northcrest Living Center (Steve Chamley) donated coffee and tea. Thank you to these generous donors!
Thank you to the members who donated soup! Nicole Fries, Sheryl Garst, Mick McKinley, Brenda Moran, and Nancy Schulze brought homemade soups. Donna Barry, Scott Hartman, Justin James, Rick Killion, and Cindi Keithley all donated toward the purchase of 4 roasters from Hy-Vee.
53 Rotarians attended, worked the luncheon, sponsored, made or purchased soup and/or donated desserts (57% of members). Two attendance credits will be awarded to volunteers and donors. Thank you to everyone who helped. We couldn’t have done it without you!
