Gretchen Bren is very involved in her Rotary District: she is club president of the Omaha Night Rotary Club, the spouse of a past District Governor, has been the District 5650 Polio Plus chair for the past several years, and is also a District Trainer and a facilitor at the Rotary Zone level for District trainers.  She is also the immediate past chair of the Rotary Action Group for Polio Survivors.

It was in November 2008 that Gretchen made her first polio immunization trip to Kaduna, Nigeria, and has since been there 6 more trips . Gretchen has also traveled to Chad twice, Mali, India, and Madagascar and Pakistan to participate in immunization projects in those countries.   In 2012, Gretchen received the Citation for Meritorious Service from the Trustees of the Rotary Foundation and in 2014 she received the International Service Award for a Polio-Free World from the Trustees of the Rotary Foundation. 

Gretchen currently works for Turner Technology as the Director of Operations and is also a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist Master Instructor (aka - a real computer nerd).  She has been married to Gary for 32 years.  Gary is a Past District Governor (2016-2017).  Both are very active in Rotary Leadership Institute, RI Visioning, and are multiple Paul Harris Fellows and major donors to the Rotary Foundation.
