And to crown it all, she plans to have a state-of-the-art library as the legacy of her Presidency, to the natives of Nakyessanja...

Such Medical Outreach camps are also designed to coincide with the annual Rotary Family Health Days.

Generally speaking, the medical outreach was a success. Very special thanks to our dear Corporates & Partners.

It had been anticipated that the patients would total to 1,000. 820 medical services were procured having registered 716 patients, of which Females were double the number of Males.

The most popular medical services procured were: General Service (292/820), Dental (139/820), HIV/AIDS Counselling & testing (126/820), Eye clinic (122/820), Cancer screening (109/820), all of which were well staffed except the Eye Clinic which was evidently under-staffed, and appropriate provisons will need to be made for any future such medical outreach camps.

Corporates: AAR, Kawanda Health Centre and Mulago, Nsambya Hospital, Nakasero Blood Bank, AIC, Roko Construction Services, Service Corps, Nile Fishing Company Ltd., Case Hospital.

6.      Medical supplies

The total budget for medical supplies was UGX. 10 million, of which MoH (Ministry of Health) offered drugs worth 5 million while Case clinic offered an assortment of drugs (value to be ascertained). The rest of the medical supplies were purchased from NMS

7.    Tree planting project

An Environmental Project, namely tree planting by the various Corporate partners, as follows: Nakyessanja Pri. Sch., Centenary Bank, AIC, Rotaract Club of Kampala – The CORE, Rotary Club of Kampala Ssesse, Rotary Club of Kiwatule was part of the activities of the day.

8.      Launch of the school library project

The formal Medical Outreach was concluded, in style, with the launch of a literacy project, by the President of the Rotary Club of Kiwatule, during which, she handed over an assortment of Primary Text Books (P6 & P7) and Teachers Reference Guides (P6 & P7). She also pledged to collect at least $1,000 as a further enhancement of the project before she hands over power in June 2014.

After the Nakyessanja Medical Outreach above, the guests and partners of Rotary Club of Kiwatule were treated to a wonderful home hospitality, hosted by the family of the RC Kiwatule’s President – Florence, at the residence of the late Mr. D. M Jemba at Namalere, 1.5km from the Medical outreach venue.
