About Our Club
RC Kiwatule history
The first formal meeting took place on December 12, 2001 under a hut at Kiwatule Recreational Centre, and in attendance were Rtns. David Ddamulira, Fred Nsamba Bukenya in addition to George Walusimbi-Mpanga, Godfrey Ssemugoomaand Hassan Ali Saleh.
RC Kololo accepted to be our mother club, and Rotarians Jackson Karyarugookwe and Yorokam Abainenama were appointed as the Governor’s Personal Representatives to mentor the club.
RC Kiwatule was subsequently admitted by Rotary International on October 8, 2002 with 27 Charter Members. The Club received its Charter Certificate on January 23, 2003.
The number of members in good standing has since grown to 126 with four Honorary Members: Mr. Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, Mzee. Venansio Ssenoga (RIP), Mr. Mwalimu Musheshe and Sudhir Ruparelia.
On a sad note, three members passed on: Rtn. George Mayanja RIP (June 28, 2003), PP. Lawrence
Ekirapa RIP (December 15, 2003) and Alex A. Kamujuni RIP (March 19, 2004). May the Lord grant them eternal peace.
