This Rotary overnight event is open to all In-bounds and Out-bounds.  Students and chaperones will be spending the night locked-in at the Harrisburg YMCA.  Each student must bring a sleeping bag, toiletries, toothbrush, etc.  Students will need to bring money if they want to purchase souvenirs.  In past years, drivers from Maryland have ended up staying at a local hotel Saturday night.  The Maryland drivers or even PA drivers are welcome to be chaperones during the day or even overnight at the YMCA and avoid the hotel bill.  Just let Ron Guss (gussr@members1st.org) know by March 1, 2019.  The Schedule is as follows:

 SATURDAY, MARCH 9:

  • 8:00 - 8:15 am:     Welcome & Check-in at Harrisburg YMCA (104 North Street Harrisburg, PA 17102)
  • 8:30 - 8:50 am:     MUST LEAVE AT 8:30 AM to Walk to the Capitol (3rd Street Main Entrance) – GO INSIDE through Security Check Point (No guns, knives, etc.)
  • 9:00 am:                Capitol Tour (inside Capitol)
  • 9:50 - 10:05 am:   Picture opportunity time (inside and outside the Capitol)
  • 10:05 - 10:15 am: Walk to Gamut Theater
  • 10:15 am - Noon: Gamut Theatre Experience (Picture opportunity)
  • Noon - 12:30 pm: Walk to Broad Street Market for Lunch
  • 12:30 - 1:55 pm:   Lunch ($10 provided) at Broad Street Market (Picture Opportunity)
  • 1:55 - 2:00 pm:     Meet between the Broad Street Market Buildings
  • 2:00 - 2:15 pm:     Walk to the Pennsylvania State Museum
  • 2:15 - 3:25 pm:     Pennsylvania State Museum (Picture Opportunities and gift Shop)
  • 3:25 pm:                Meet outside Gift Shop
  • 3:30 - 3:45 pm:     Walk to Whitaker Center
  • 3:45 – 3:55 pm:    Whitaker Center Gift Shop
  • 3:55 pm:                Gather at Theater Entrance
  • 4:00 - 5:00 pm:     Select Medical Digital Cinema IMAX movie (Great Bear Rainforest-3D)
  • 5:00 - 5:45 pm:     Walk through River Front Park back to the YMCA (Stop at Kunkel Plaza for Picture opportunity)
  • 5:45 - 6:30 pm:     Free time at YMCA
  • 6:30 pm:                 Pizza Party
  • 7:30 - 11 pm:         Harrisburg Rotary Dance (DJ Chuck Schulz)
  • 8 pm - 11:30 pm:  Volleyball or Basketball
  • 12:15 am:              All cell phones will be collected and returned at Breakfast
  • 1:00 am                  Lights Out!

SUNDAY, MARCH 10:

  • 8:30- 9:30 am:     Continental Breakfast & Goodbyes
  • 9:30 am:               Host Family Pick-up Students at the North Street Entrance of the YMCA (104 North St., Harrisburg, PA 17102)
