Wear clothing suitable for being outdoors and comfortable shoes (sneakers) as we will be doing some walking. Be ready to take photos!! Bring spending money for items you may wish to purchase. The York Rotary Club will provide lunch money, admission and skate rental fees, pizza party and admission to York Revs Baseball game. Bring warm clothing for ice skating.
Saturday
- 8:15-12:15 DYE Inbound Orientation – Christ Lutheran Church (use George St parking garage and church front entrance)
- 12:30 Walk to Central Market for lunch (Chaperones will have $8 for students’ lunch at Central Market)
- 1:30 Tour of Judicial Center with Judge & group photos – (Cell Phones & Cameras ARE permitted)
- 2:30 Tour of Downtown York and free time at York Fest/River Walk
- 3:30 Pick up by York Sat. Overnight host family at Christ Lutheran Church for Dinner with Family
- 7:30 Ice Skating at York Ice Rink – York Sat. Overnight Host family drop off. York Rotarians will drive students to PSU-York from rink
SKATING: Inbound admission and skate rental covered by York Rotary Club. York Host families are invited and encouraged to join the students for the skating party at a DISCOUNT cost of $7.50/pp for skate rental and admission (Tell the cashier you are with the York Rotary Group). Wear jeans, gloves, and jackets as the rink is indoors but not “heated”. Transportation to Pizza party provided by York Club Rotarians.
- 8:30 PM Pizza party at Penn State York – Ruhl Student Center. York Sat. overnight host families are welcome to attend.
- 10:30 PM Pick up by York Sat. overnight Host families (Clearances needed)
Sunday
- 12:30pm Drop off at Stock and Leader for York Revolution Baseball game
- 4:30pm Pick up by Host Club/Host family at Stock & Leader (221 W. Philadelphia St, York)
This event is MANDATORY for Inbound students. ALL INBOUNDS must RSVP to Bert Oberdick by August 18 via email (bert@yorkrotary.org) or phone (717-848-1370) that they will attend. Any Inbound wishing to be excused from attending MUST contact Inbound Chair Walt Tilley at (717) 891-6375 (Cell) or email wtilley@stockandleaders.com by Friday, August 18.
