YE Harrisburg Overnight

This Rotary overnight event is open to all In-bounds and Out-bounds.  Students and chaperones will be spending the night locked-in at the Harrisburg YMCA.  Each student must bring a sleeping bag, toiletries, toothbrush, etc.  Students will need to bring money if they want to purchase souvenirs.  The Schedule is as follows:

 SATURDAY, MARCH 18:

• 8:00-8:15 am:        Welcome & Check-in at Harrisburg YMCA (104 North Street Harrisburg, PA 17102)
• 8:30 am:                 Walk to the Capitol (3^rd Street Main Entrance) – GO INSIDE
• 9:00 am:                 Capitol Tour (inside Capitol)
• 9:50-10:05 am:      Picture opportunity  time (inside and outside the Capitol)
• 10:05-10:15 am:    Walk to Pennsylvania State Museum
• 10:15-10:55 am:    Group Tour of Museum (Picture opportunity)
• 10:55-11:00 am:    Line up for Planetarium Show (3^rd Floor of the Museum)
• 11:00-Noon:           Planetarium Show
• Noon- 12:30 pm:   Continue Group Tour of Museum and visit Museum Store
• 12:30-12:40 pm:    Walk to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral
• 12:40-12:50 pm:    Short Tour of St. Patrick’s Cathedral (Picture opportunity – be respectful)
• 12:50-1:00 pm:      Walk to Strawberry Square
• 1:00-2:00 pm:        Lunch in the Strawberry Square Food Court.  You will receive an allowance to cover lunch at your            choice of vendors.
• 2:00-3:00 pm:        Harrisburg Saint Patrick’s Day Parade (Walnut Street at Strawberry Square)  (Picture opportunity)
• 3:00-3:15 pm:        Walk to Gamut Theatre
• 3:15-4:40 pm:        Gamut Theatre Experience (Picture opportunity)
• 4:40-4:55 pm:         Walk to the Whitaker Center
• 5:00-6:00 pm:         Select Medical Digital Cinema movie – To Be Determined
• 6:00-6:30 pm:         Walk through River Front Park back to the YMCA  (Picture opportunity)
• 6:30 pm:                  Return to YMCA
• 7:00 pm:                  Pizza Party
• 7:30 pm til…:          Harrisburg Rotary St. Patrick’s Day Dance (DJ Chuck Schulz)
• 8 pm til…:               Volleyball and/or Basketball
• 1:00 am                  Lights Out

SUNDAY, MARCH 20:

8:00 – 9:00 am   Continental Breakfast & Goodbyes

9:00 am       Host Family Pick-up Students at the North Street Entrance of the YMCA (104 North St., Harrisburg, PA 17102)
