Dan Zukergood and the Most(ly) Happy Band
the Woodstock festival. While he was not at the festival, he was
just down the road in Hunter, NY working as a camp counselor.
He and his girlfriend asked the camp director if they could take
one extra day off so they could go to the festival.
The director told them no because he had heard that there might
be a big crowd there and they might not be able to get back in
time for work. While they were very disappointed, he certainly was
right! However, they did get to see Canned Heat play a gig at a local bar that night! Very cool!
Dan has been a mainstay musician in the Pioneer Valley for over 20 years. The first band that he played with in the Valley was with Lara Kramer and the Rummagers. Lara’s father is Eddie Kramer, who was the recording engineer and producer of all of Jimi Hendrix’s albums and, ironically, the Woodstock Album.
For the past ten years, he has been a vocalist and lead guitarist for Johnny and the Flashbacks, one of the Valley’s premier classic rock dance bands. His first cd of original songs, entitled Most(ly) Happy Man, came out in November, 2017. It was recorded at Rubytone Studio in Shutesbury. The Most(ly) Happy Band plays both covers and originals and is known for their always interesting and exciting shows.
