Gulf Coast HIDTA

Tim Valenti became the Director of Gulf Coast HIDTA in May 2016. Prior to his appointment as Director, Mr. Valenti served as legal advisor to the Honorable Sheriff Newell Normand, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) in Louisiana. During his tenure with Sheriff Normand, he contributed in developing and implementing a law enforcement leadership program that was adopted and is currently utilized as the model policy for the National Sheriffs’ Association. Mr. Valenti additionally served JPSO as a narcotics detective and deputy sheriff, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. He also served 14 years as an assistant parish attorney for the Parish of Jefferson, serving three parish presidents. Mr. Valenti received his Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice and Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans.
