This Week's Speaker
Aug 25, 2021
NOCHI
NOCHI

Leah Sarris is an educator, chef, and dietitian with a focus on innovative industry training, strategic planning, and implementation, especially within the start-up and non-profit sectors. With an MBA from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science from Johnson & Wales University, her wide-ranging professional experience spans from foodservice to agriculture, education, and community engagement. As the Executive Director of the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute (NOCHI), she merges passions for food and education by providing robust learning opportunities to aspiring chefs, those in the industry, and culinary enthusiasts on food and hospitality principles. In her former role at the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine, she helped develop and implement the United States’ premier interdisciplinary culinary medicine program. Leah is particularly excited to provide culinarians, healthcare professionals, and the community the opportunity to learn how to make great food that just happens to be good for them.

Delinquent Dues Collection Policy
The prompt payment of dues is critical to the fiscal health of the Rotary Club of New Orleans.  As Rotarians, in keeping with the Four-Way Test, we must all honor our obligations to one another. In order to facilitate and simplify the payment of Dues by Members the Club accepts automatic credit card payments.

If for any reason a member is unable to pay their Dues timely, they must contact the Club Treasurer Jeremy Hunnewell immediately in writing, (Jeremy.Hunnewell@GMail.com), with an explanation of their particular circumstances and a proposed payment schedule to bring any past due amounts current within 90 days. The member must receive a written acknowledgement from the Treasurer agreeing to their payment plan, in order for them to remain a member of the Club.

Any member who slips more than 30 days past due on dues payments shall be required to submit a credit card for future Dues payments. Any member who slips more than 90 days past due will be struck from the Club's rolls.

If in fact, the member's circumstances require that they resign due to their continued inability to pay Club Dues timely, we ask that any outstanding balance of Dues be paid in full. In order to resign, a letter or email of resignation must be sent to the Board no later than the 30-day due date of your membership Dues invoice. Other community Rotary Clubs will be informed of any former members of the Rotary Club of New Orleans who leave behind an outstanding balance after having been struck from the Club’s rolls for defaulting on Dues.

Effective July 1, 2020, Rotary membership Dues paid or reimbursed after the fact by individuals, employers, or organizations, MUST be paid at the start of the new Rotary Year, July 1st. Payment of Dues months or a year after the fact will no longer be accepted. It is inappropriate for Members to expect the Club to carry these past-due invoices on our books and we can no longer afford to do so.
