Off-Site Event September 18th
On Wednesday, 18 September 2024, our club will go on a field trip to the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience, 818 Howard Ave, New Orleans, LA 70113 (across the street from NOCHI).  We plan to have box lunches from Panera.   Our default box lunch will be (1) a Turkey & Cheddar Sandwich (Oven roasted turkey breast, aged white cheddar, crisp mixed greens, vine-ripened tomatoes, red onions, garlic aioli, salt and pepper on our Country Rustic Sourdough, served with a bag of chips, a cookie and a pickle spear).  You may instead ask for (2) a Caesar with Chicken Salad (Crisp romaine and lettuce blend tossed in Caesar dressing, topped with grilled chicken, shaved parmesan, and black pepper and sea salt croutons. Served with a piece of French Baguette and a cookie), or for a vegetarian option, (3) a Strawberry Poppyseed Salad (Crisp romaine and lettuce blend, mandarin oranges and fresh strawberries, blueberries and pineapple tossed in poppyseed dressing and topped with toasted pecan pieces).  If you would prefer a salad, please e-mail Tara Knowles taraknowles@nolavirtualsolutions.com and Seth M. Nehrbass, Patent Attorney SNehrbass@gmail.com by Friday, 13 September 2024 with your preference (item 2 or item 3).  If none of these work for you, please contact Seth SNehrbass@gmail.com so we can find something that will.  You will still need to RSVP to Tara as usual the week before the meeting.  We will have bottled water.
Paul Harris Wheels Update
I want to update the club on the status of the wheels

The “wheels” are a simple method to make a smaller donation towards a Paul Harris Fellow and to support the great RI Foundation projects.
  1. For the $100 wheel, 8 of 10 donations are still available.
  2. For the $200 wheel, 4 of 5 donations are still available.
  3. For the $250 wheel, 3 of 4 donations are still available.
Once a wheel is completed and all of the donations are collected, all the names are placed in a hat to draw one person and that person will receive the Paul Harris Fellow Award. It’s That simple.
Please Join me in making the Paul Harris Wheels a success!

The Four Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things we think, say or do:

1.     Is it the TRUTH?

2.     Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3.     Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4.     Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
