NEW ORLEANS – The 18th Ward is proud to announce an exciting collaboration with Son of a Saint to host a one-of-a-kind flag football event called Touchdowns and Tech, designed to combine the thrill of on-field flag football games with cutting-edge esports activities. Touchdowns and Tech will take place on Sunday, February 2 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at St. Augustine High School’s newly-constructed, state-of-the-art field located at 2525/2527 St. Bernard Ave. New Orleans, LA 70119.
The 18th Ward will oversee on-field games and activities, while the N-OvateUs Foundation will enhance the experience with a mobile gaming unit featuring Madden and other football-themed games. This will create a seamless combination of virtual gaming and traditional sports.
“This event is all about creating more access and opportunities for youth.” said Lowrey Crews, CEO of The 18th Ward. “Our kids deserve the chance to be active and build positive relationships through sports. Collaboration between multiple organizations in New Orleans is required to create more long term, positive outcomes for our kids and families.”
