This Week's Speaker
Feb 19, 2020
President & CEO New Orleans Creative Center for the Arts (NOCCA)
President & CEO New Orleans Creative Center for the Arts (NOCCA)

Kyle Wedberg is in his 13th year as President and Chief Executive Officer of NOCCA-the performing and visual arts high school for the State of Louisiana.  NOCCA is a high performing public high school (top 20 in the state in both absolute performance and student growth) and manifests extraordinary outcomes in the arts for it’s students (the 117 graduates in 2019 garnered $23M in scholarships offered). In 2017 Kyle was given the Jeffery Lawrence Award for Outstanding National Art School Leader by the Arts Schools Network.

Before coming to NOCCA Kyle served as Chief Administrative Officer for Recovery School District of Louisiana.  Kyle has also served as a Regional Director and the Director of New Site Development for City Year National where he: supported the launch of City Year Johannesburg; and led the start-up of City Year New Orleans, City Year Baton Rouge and City Year Los Angeles.  Kyle was privileged to serve as a Senior Budget Analyst for the Office of Budget and Management responsible for the City of Chicago’s public safety departments (Police, Fire, Office of Emergency Communications).  Kyle began his career as a City Year AmeriCorps volunteer in Boston.

In his spare time Kyle enjoys being with his wife and son above all else; living his deep commitment to lead and support the civic work of the city, region and state; experiencing the arts, sights, sounds, land, food, culture, and sports of New Orleans and Louisiana; and walking with the joy of seeing his beloved Saints and Cubs as World Champions.

Kyle has a Bachelor degree from St. Olaf College and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
