Transforming the Catholic University into a Gulf South regional university
Transforming the Catholic University into a Gulf South regional university

Dr. Stanton F. McNeely III began his term as President of the University of Holy Cross last July.

Stanton is a 1995 undergraduate alumnus of the University of Holy Cross and earned a doctorate in Education from Northcentral University.

He is now the 19th president in UHC’s 104-year history. Stanton earned an MBA from Loyola University. He is a New Orleans native and 1991 graduate of Jesuit High School.

In his inaugural address, McNeely announced ambitious goals for his tenure at UHC including transforming the Catholic University into a Gulf South regional university, engaging in modern distance education practices to reach students near and abroad, and expanding partnerships and engagements with external stakeholders to jointly meet the needs of an ever-changing world and to continue the tradition and mission of the founding Marianite sisters.

Stanton previously ran the 10-member statewide independent colleges association and previously served numerous positions at UHC including Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Director of Admissions, Director of Student Affairs, and Assistant to the Dean of Sciences. Dr. McNeely was also a business professor at the University of Holy Cross in the 2000s.

School Supply Backpack Project – WE NEED YOUR HELP!
COVID has hampered our community service efforts and our annual School Supply Backpack Project is severely impacted due to the inability to hand out backpacks to our members to fill with supplies.  The only option to support this project is to ask for donations to purchase the necessary supplies. Peter has graciously made a very generous donation to kick start this project and we encourage others to follow his example.  Whether returning to school or virtual learning, children desperately need our help in providing them the supplies needed to start school.  Please contact Tara Knowles at taraknowles@nolavirtualsolutions.com to include a donation on your quarterly statement, provide a credit card, or make checks payable to The Rotary Club of New Orleans and mail to:
Penny Menge 800 Valmont St. New Orleans, LA 70115.
Zelle or Venmo is also available to:  pennymenge@gmail.com
