Dr. Roy A. Salgado, Jr. received his B.S. in Psychology from Tulane University in 1995.  He received his Masters degree in Counseling in 2000 and his Ph.D. in Counselor Education in 2003 from the University of New Orleans.  Dr. Salgado has also worked as a teacher for the Archdiocese of New Orleans School System.  In addition to his teaching experience he has had diverse experiences as a counselor at an elementary school, a high school, a child and adolescent youth ranch, a community agency, and in private practice.  His research interests are in the area of child and adolescent neglect and abuse, play therapy, child and adolescent development, domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking and family counseling.  He has also served on faculty at Xavier University of Louisiana.  Dr. Salgado currently provides clinical mental health counseling services to members of the English and Spanish speaking communities through his work with the New Orleans Family Justice Center, as well as works with the general population in private practice where he has served the community since 2003.  Most recently Dr. Salgado has served as a leading advocate in the formation of an initiative to help address the mental health needs of the more than 1500 unaccompanied minors who have recently come from Central America, most notably from the Republic of Honduras, to the New Orleans area. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Salgado has a position as an Associate Professor of Counseling and Behavioral Sciences at THE UNIVERSITY OF HOLY CROSS where he has been on faculty teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels since 2006.

BIG GAME RAFFLE
We are asking each Rotarian to purchase or sell at least 4 Big Game Raffle Tickets so we can continue to fund some of our charitable endeavors.  Your tickets were mailed last month and so far, 18% of the membership has responded.  Thanks for your efforts and generosity.

We have a great list of prizes including tickets to all LSU, Saints and Pelican games.  The tickets are only $20 each, 100% of the money goes to Service projects sponsored by Rotary Clubs and you get a chance to win one of over 50 prizes.  If games are cancelled because of the epidemic, cash prizes will be substituted.
We have set an aggressive goal to sell over 500 tickets but if everyone sells or buys just 4 tickets, we will exceed our goal.  The $8o cost is less than the monthly dues which have been suspended since March.  This raffle has been one our most reliable fundraisers as there is no cost to our club.

If you did not receive the tickets or need some additional please contact me at Kkoppy23@gmail.com or 713-503-0401. The drawing will be held on August 20th
Mail tickets stubs and checks to me at 800 Valmont Street, New Orleans 70115.
