Coming up on November 20 is what has become a valued tradition for the club:  our Thanksgiving Basket Project.  This is a cornerstone of how we meaningfully give back to our community.  From 2:30p-4:30p, we will be filling up baskets with food for a week; from 4:30p-6:30p, we will be giving out the baskets to families in need … all at First Grace United Methodist Church, 3401 Canal St.  Scroll down to “Upcoming Events” and click on Thanksgiving Project 2025 to sign up.  Thanks for taking part!

How New Orleans and Company Drives Tourism and Supports our City
How New Orleans and Company Drives Tourism and Supports our City

Kevin Ferguson is a New Orleans native who after graduating from Florida State University, returned home to pursue a career in the sports industry and to be a part of the city’s recovery after Hurricane Katrina. Prior to joining New Orleans and Company he spent 11 years in the New Orleans Pelicans and Saints organization leading premium sales.  As Vice President of External Affairs and Membership he is responsible for membership strategies, community partnerships, community engagement and government affairs. New Orleans and Company believes that what makes the city better for our residents also makes it better for our visitors. Kevin’s team focuses on supporting our members and moving New Orleans forward on quality-of-life issues including public safety, homelessness, public transportation, accessibility, and sustainability. In his 3 years at NO&Co his team has led initiatives like Home For Good New Orleans, Recycle D’At, and supplier diversity efforts on behalf of our industry. Kevin is also involved in numerous community organizations such as GNO Inc. NextGen Council, New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, the Louisiana Museum Foundation, Grace at the Greenlight and the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation.

Michael Duplantier Receives Paul Harris

Last week, Ernesto Carballo had the honor of presenting fellow Rotarian Michael Duplantier with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition. The Paul Harris Fellow is one of Rotary’s most prestigious acknowledgments, given to individuals whose contributions exemplify the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self.”

Michael’s dedication to the community and steadfast support of Rotary’s mission have made a lasting impact both within our club and beyond.

Congratulations to Michael Duplantier on this well-deserved honor.

Call for Speakers
The Program Committee is seeking members who are interested in helping coordinate speakers for our upcoming meetings. This is a great opportunity to get involved, share ideas, and help shape the engaging programs our club is known for.
We’re also seeking input from all members on the types of speakers and topics you’d like to see in the months ahead. Your suggestions are valued and appreciated!
Please forward all ideas or your interest in joining the committee to Angel Cutno a.chung.cutno@gmail.com
The Four Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things we think, say or do:

1.     Is it the TRUTH?

2.     Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3.     Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4.     Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
