This Week's Speaker
Nov 08, 2023
The Krewe De Jean D'Arc

Amy Kirk Duvoisin moved to New Orleans in 2004 and founded the Joan of Arc Project in 2008. The first Joan of Arc Parade rolled in the French Quarter in 2009 and the first Maid of Honor was selected as Joan of Arc in 2010. Since 2020, Amy has worked as the Marketing and Community Relations Director for Jefferson Performing Arts Society. Previously, she worked for Louisiana Children's Museum, Pelican Publishing, Clear Channel Radio, and The French Market Corporation and has served on the board of the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival, Festigals, and French Quarter Women's Business Association. She currently serves on the board of  Alliance Francaise New Orleans. She teaches a summer course on "Socially Conscious Social Media" in the Young Public Scholars program at Tulane University and writes freelance feature articles for New Orleans Magazine and Where Y'At Magazine year-round. Amy married a New Orleans native the same year the parade was founded, and they have one 13-year-old daughter who, as far as she knows, has not yet begun hearing voices (as Joan did at that age!)

Emmeline Meyer is a native of New Orleans and a 2023 graduate of Lycee Francais de la Nouvelle-Orleans, the only public French immersion K-12 school in Louisiana, where she graduated as valedictorian. She received the French Baccalaureate with honors in 2023, the first native-English speaker in the state to receive the bac. She is currently a freshman at Tulane University.  Her hobbies are musical theater, volunteering for the Tulane radio station and training to become a DJ, and participating in Tulane’s service dog training program.

The Four Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things we think, say or do:

1.     Is it the TRUTH?

2.     Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3.     Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4.     Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
