The Rotary Club of New Orleans is excited to host Chris Beary for an engaging discussion about the Lousiana Music & Heritage Experience (LMHE), an exciting new world-class museum currently under development in the River District. LMHE’s vision is to honor Louisiana’s role as the origin of American music, while creating and supporting an equitable, thriving music economy. As the museum’s founder and chairman, Chris is leading the way to make this visionary project a reality for our community.
Thank you to all who donated their time, talent and treasure to ensure this year's Backpack Giveaway was a success. On Sunday, August 2, 2026, nineteen Rotarians packed 300 backpacks in less than 1 1/2 hours. August 2-3rd, five Rotarians delivered the backpacks to Clover, Salvation Army, Boys Town, Unity of Hope, and the Women and Children's Shelter.
The total amount spent was $4721.08 which totals: $15.73 per unit (backpack and supplies).
Rotary Connects, our project to promote New Orleans non-profit organizations that do good work for our local community, is off and running! Thanks to many members of our Club, several nominations of non-profits were made and the Voting Subcommittee, after a thorough and exhaustive review of every name submitted, have selected three non-profits for consideration. The next step is that these three non-profit names will be submitted to the Board at its next meeting. Thereafter, the recommendation will come back to the Club for a vote. Stay tuned. We will keep you posted on our progress.
The Program Committee is seeking members who are interested in helping coordinate speakers for our upcoming meetings. This is a great opportunity to get involved, share ideas, and help shape the engaging programs our club is known for.
We’re also seeking input from all members on the types of speakers and topics you’d like to see in the months ahead. Your suggestions are valued and appreciated!
The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings: Of the things we think, say or do:
