This Week's Speaker
Aug 05, 2020
VICE PRESIDENT, INVESTOR RELATIONS NEW ORLEANS BUSINESS ALLIANCE
VICE PRESIDENT, INVESTOR RELATIONS NEW ORLEANS BUSINESS ALLIANCE

Stephanie Bell has spent that last half of her career working in nonprofit management with a focus on economic development.  She has an impressive history of leadership and is respected for helping organizations innovate, thrive, and increase visibility. Prior to joining Friends of City Park, she had success creating value-added programs, planning and executing special events, and exceeding fundraising goals as Vice President of Investor Relations for the New Orleans Business Alliance, the official economic development partnership for New Orleans and the hub of its business community.

Before joining the New Orleans Business Alliance, Mrs. Bell served as the Director of Outreach and Alumni Engagement for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program in conjunction with Delgado Community College.  During her tenure and in support of the economic development program’s mission, she created a Small Business Advisory Board and developed new outreach strategies, that are still being used nationwide today.  She has filled several positions across the marketing and communications field, including leading a team of marketing consultants as the Advertising Manager of McClatchy-owned Sun Herald Multimedia and working in marketing and enrollment in academia.

Mrs. Bell holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is currently pursuing a professional certification from the University of Oklahoma in International Economic Development.

Mrs. Bell has a history of community leadership and is passionate about environmental sustainability. She currently serves on the board of the US Green Building Council of Louisiana, the Regional Sustainability Council, and the Woodlands Conservancy.

She is a native Louisianan who currently resides in New Orleans with her husband, Brandon, and their dog, Auggie.  Stephanie is an avid traveler.   Other hobbies include standup paddle boarding on the lake, biking in City Park, tennis with her husband, and she is always up for New Orleans culture – Food Music, and Festivals.

School Supply Backpack Project – WE NEED YOUR HELP!
COVID has hampered our community service efforts and our annual School Supply Backpack Project is severely impacted due to the inability to hand out backpacks to our members to fill with supplies.  The only option to support this project is to ask for donations to purchase the necessary supplies. Peter has graciously made a very generous donation to kick start this project and we encourage others to follow his example.  Whether returning to school or virtual learning, children desperately need our help in providing them the supplies needed to start school.  Please contact Tara Knowles at taraknowles@nolavirtualsolutions.com to include a donation on your quarterly statement, provide a credit card, or make checks payable to The Rotary Club of New Orleans and mail to:
Penny Menge 800 Valmont St. New Orleans, LA 70115.
Zelle or Venmo is also available to:  pennymenge@gmail.com

BIG GAME RAFFLE
Big Game Raffle – less than 4 weeks to go!

We are asking each Rotarian to purchase or sell at least 4 Big Game Raffle Tickets so we can continue to fund some of our charitable endeavors.   The response has been good, however we still need everyone to participate so we can meet our goal of selling 500 tickets. The $8o cost is significantly less than the monthly dues which have been suspended since March.  This raffle has been one our most reliable fundraisers as there is no cost to our club.  We have a great list of prizes including tickets to all LSU, Saints and Pelican games.  The tickets are only $20 each, 100% of the money goes to Service projects sponsored by Rotary Clubs and you get a chance to win one of over 50 prizes.  If games are cancelled because of the pandemic, cash prizes will be substituted.

If you did not receive the tickets or need some additional please contact me at Kkoppy23@gmail.com or 713-503-0401. The drawing will be held on August 20th.
Mail tickets stubs and checks payable to the Rotary Club of New Orleans to me at 800 Valmont Street, New Orleans 70115, or you can send money via Zelle to my email address.
Thanks for your efforts and generosity.

Karl Koppy
