I have been involved with the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners (LANP) since 1992 and have been extremely active over the past 28 years serving on local, regional, and state committees and as a member of the Board of Directors. I served as the Primary Care Conference Coordinator and Chair over 10 years with duties encompassing all aspects of preparing, executing, implementing, overseeing, and evaluating the conferences. These conferences provide an avenue for educating NPs throughout Louisiana and attracts NPs from around the country.
Since 2015, I remained on the LANP Board of Directors but switched my focus to creating the Louisiana Nurse Practitioner Foundation. Since its inception, I have been instrumental in
providing free CEs to Louisiana NPs through joint ventures with other Foundations and Pharmaceutical companies
generating funding for awarding 10 scholarships to RNs and NPs wishing to advance their nursing careers in 2019
forming partnerships with donors and Foundations to provide sustainability for the LNP Foundation
grant writing and having several of our grants approved for funding
I continue to search on behalf of the LNP Foundation for opportunities for partnerships to continue our advocacy efforts through community outreach programs.
Based on my long-standing history as a healthcare provider, experienced clinician, nursing educator, nurse practitioner advocate, as well as my understanding of budgets and financial aspects of running the conferences and the Foundation, and my grant writing experience, I believe I am more than qualified to seek a partnership with your organization, New Orleans Rotary Foundation, INC (NORFI). I look forward to and appreciate this opportunity.
For donations made in 2020, up to $300 given to a qualified charitable organization can be deducted on your individual income tax return whether you itemize or not.
