Rotarians, it is that time of year again where we stuff backpacks full of school supplies so that children in New Orleans can return to school fully equipped and ready to learn. The cost of filling one bag can equal about $50, so you can imagine the financial burden for families with multiple children. However, when we fill bags en masse, we are able to do so more cost effectively. If you are interested in stuffing bags, we will meet on August 2nd, immediately after our regularly scheduled meeting, 1-5pm at 1215 Prytania Street. Last year, we raised over $4,000 and were able to send over 200 backpacks to three different organizations and one school! What an impact for the students of New Orleans.
