Warren Easton did it again!

For the seventh consecutive year, our Rotary Club’s adopted high school, WARREN EASTON CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL earned a 100% graduation rate! This is even more remarkable as graduation rates in Louisiana declined this year. The latest state average is 77%, while New Orleans public schools averaged 75.7%

As you probably know, Warren Easton is an open-admission public charter school.  Because of the One App policy, the Orleans Parish School Board now decides which students get assigned to Warren Easton; Easton has no say so whatsoever in the application process.  Per Easton’s Administration, “No matter what academic level they enter with, our mission is to take the kids who enroll and develop them into successful Eagles. And that is what we do!”

For the 2017-2018 school year Warren Easton led all schools in Orleans Parish, as 2,013 students applied for 250 spots in this year's freshman class.

Congratulations to Principal Medley, her staff and the faculty.  Go Eagles!

         Thanks, and YIR,
