This week's speaker is John Cummings - Whitney Plantation

 John J. Cummings, III is a 78 year old New Orleans native. He is a graduate of Jesuit High School, Loyola University and Loyola University School of Law.  He is married, the father of eight children and the grandfather of five.

He practiced law in New Orleans for more than 50 years, specializing in class actions and mass tort litigation, and had offices in Seattle and Philadelphia as well as New Orleans during that time.

He continues to practice law at present, but has focused for the past sixteen years on the re-development of the Whitney Plantation as a Museum, Memorial and Site of Memory.  It was opened to the public on December 7, 2014 and he is actively involved in its operations daily.
