Cash Donations:
1. From Penny Menge, Unity of Greater New Orleans is seeking donations to
feed the homeless in social isolation: You can do this at

2. St. Xavier’s/Updated in bold. Only eight days left in the match. Jim
Willeford and Randy Feldman are making their own donations for St.
Xavier’s match and each will contribute an extra $10 for every $100 donated
by club members. So, if you contribute $100, they will both contribute an
extra $10. If you contribute $1,000, they will both contribute an extra $100,
etc. This match is good through May 31. Make your donation to NORFI
and in the memo line write St. Xavier’s and send it to Mary L. Bonfanti,
NORFI Board President, 428 State St., New Orleans, LA 70118, OR ask
Tara to bill you and note that it is for the St. Xavier’s Project.
3. NORFI. At the meeting on Wednesday, Dottie Nelson asked that you
consider making a donation to NORFI that would otherwise be your current
dues for our club lunches. NORFI appreciates your contributions to its
efforts that are so needed at this time.
Volunteer Opportunities:
1. Unity of Greater New Orleans is seeking volunteers to feed the homeless in
social isolation: Email unityjv@unitygno.org to get in touch with Jesuit
Volunteer Joanna Haug who is coordinating the feeding effort. You can also
volunteer to deliver food to the homeless temporarily housed at two local
hotels: Email homelesswarehouse@unitygno.org. Unity also needs regular
volunteers at the warehouse in order to expand the hours. Email
homelesswarehouse@unitygno.org.
Other Donations:
1. Unity of Greater New Orleans is seeking donation of 16 oz. bottles of water,
packaged snacks (such as granola bars or chips or beef jerky), or fresh
fruit. Email unityjv@unitygno.org to get in touch with Jesuit Volunteer Joanna
Haug who is coordinating the feeding effort. To donate cleaning supplies,
toiletries, kitchen utensils and bowls, towels, and bedlinens for the homeless
moving off the street and into housing, drop items off at the UNITY
Warehouse Monday through Friday, 9 am-noon, 506 N. St. Patrick Street,
504-483-9300.
2. From WDSU.com, blood banks in the New Orleans area are in desperate
need of donations as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to hit their
operations. Officials for the blood banks said their shelves are almost
bare. The Blood Center said it's safe to donate. Go to

Job Opportunities:
1. SELA Aquatics provides lifeguards to the Southern Yacht Club and others
and is currently hiring lifeguards, with special incentives for this season. New
employees can receive a $200 signing bonus, along with reimbursement for
their lifeguard certification through SELA Aquatics (worth $250-$300). Ages
15 and up are eligible for employment. Applications are accepted online at

conferencing. Applicants can apply and interview before completing the
