Business Services.
1. City Business reports applications are available for the Paycheck Protection Program which resulted from the $2 trillion stimulus package signed into law March 27. The U.S. Small Business Administration issued guidelines for the program. Small businesses and sole proprietorships can apply for and receive forgivable loans under the PPP. Beginning April 10, independent contractors and self-employed individuals may do the same.
Miscellaneous.
- Angel’s Drivers.Recently, Penny reported on the reception they are getting at Touro. Here are her comments:
Here are the numbers I received today from the hospital and they are staggering. 38 patients are admitted to ICU with 10 more to be admitted waiting on agency staff. 40 patients have tested positive and require hospitalization without ICU. 62 patients require hospitalization with positive symptoms pending final test results. All the beds at the hospital have been converted into COVID units, requiring 82 staff for a 12-hour shift. (164 staff to cover a 24-hour period). Staff are working 12+ hour shifts 10 to 14 days in a row. They are working short staffed, and exhausted. They are very very grateful for the meals we are sending.
