Dr. Silas Lee is a nationally recognized pollster and strategist for a host of corporate, non-profit, public sector, political, and legal clients over the last 30 years. Lee is recognized for incorporating the social and cultural dynamics of urban society in his analysis of qualitative (focus groups, in-person interviews, mock trails) and quantitative data (polls).
This unique strategy offers a vivid portrait of the challenges and opportunities that his clients can expect as they implement a communications strategy to inform and motivate diverse demographic groups. His company, Dr. Silas Lee and Associates, specializes in public opinion research and communications strategies for corporations, non-profits and political campaigns. He has also been part of the polling collaboration for three presidential campaigns and assisted attorneys in measuring the attitudes of potential jurors for multimillion dollar civil and criminal cases.
Dr. Lee is also a professor at Xavier University. Lee’s research initiatives have include measuring and analyzing the local and national opinions of citizens about social, political and demographic trends and issues. He has served as a consultant to numerous businesses, governmental agencies, and public and private corporations to incorporate a social analysis of the perceptions and trends in urban America for strategic planning. Aside from providing consultation and analysis to numerous political candidates, opinion makers, corporations and agencies, Lee’s polls and research have been cited by print and electronic media in over 600 publications worldwide.
One of Silas Lee’s primary teaching goals is to prepare students for the application of sociological theories to contemporary social trends and issues. By incorporating diverse teaching methods to the learning process, students are able to appreciate the multiple dimensions of sociology in life and society.
He received his B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University and his masters and doctorate in Urban Studies from the University of New Orleans.
