The New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter

Madeleine Briscoe, CFRE, has been a fundraising professional for 16 years. Her career has spanned higher education, the arts and culture, and youth organizations. However, her true passion lies in serving organizations that address issues relevant to women and girls. Madeleine believes whole-heartedly in the idea that empowering women and girls lifts up entire communities. Madeleine currently serves the New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter as Chief Philanthropy Officer, where she oversees all aspects of developed revenue and communications and public relations for the Shelter. Madeleine is a Board Member and Programs Committee Chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater New Orleans Chapter.

The New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter (NOWCS) is the region’s largest sheltering organization for the most vulnerable population; families with children. Serving families of diverse backgrounds, NOWCS does so much more than provide temporary shelter and food. NOWCS is on a mission to end homelessness by providing families with the tools they need to transition from a life of poverty to one of stability and self-sufficiency.
