Boy Scouts
Holly McCollum is the first female President of Southeast Louisiana Council of the Boy Scouts of America in the council’s 98 year history. She began her Scouting career in 2006, when her son came home with an orange sticker that read “I want to be a Cub Scout”. Holly has served as Advancement Chair and Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 434; Advancement Chair, and New Scout Parent Coordinator for Scouts BSA Troop 117; Executive board member, Council Vice President of Marketing and Executive Vice President for Southeast Louisiana Council, BSA. Holly has been Wood Badge trained, and served as course director for the NST7-214-22 course last year, after serving on several other course staffs. She has been awarded the District Award of Merit, the BSA Silver Beaver Award, and the 2021 Southeast Louisiana Council Above & Beyond Service Recognition Award.
When Holly isn’t Scouting, she serves clients through strategic media planning and buying as President of Total Media LLC, the company she founded in 2010. Holly has been passionate about media for over 35 years. She is known throughout the region as a powerhouse steeped in research and committed to ethical and effective media campaigns. She has been named the Advertising Club of New Orleans Media Person of the year (twice), and has been quoted extensively in marketing and advertising publications such as Ad Week, Media Week, Media post and Direct Magazine. Her white paper Media Buying in a Post-Katrina New Orleans was also published nationally by the American Association of Advertising (AAAA) in January, 2006.
Holly received her BA from Tulane University. She is married to Craig McCollum, and they are both incredibly proud of their Eagle Scout son Evan McCollum, a recent Tulane graduate who is currently a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
