Please see below a volunteer opportunity.  Embedded towards the bottom of the email you will see a link to sign up.  There are VARIOUS options for volunteering.  Beer tent volunteers do not actually "sell" the beer.  Therefore, you do not need to take a "test" to pour the beer.  There will be dedicated cashiers for that responsibility.  If you have questions, I can be reached via 314-363-1555.  Angele

Help us spread the word! Reminder: If you work more than one shift in a day, you are eligible for an extra $10 in food credits!

Help Keep the Fest Green!

The Geauxing Green initiative returns for a fifth consecutive year to Satchmo SummerFest! This year’s festival re-commits to the organization's aspirations of keeping preventable debris and waste from our environment and Louisiana waterways. Since FQFI began the program 5 years ago, over 212,000 lbs of waste has been diverted from landfills and our ecosystems. 


Join today and help reduce the environmental impact of our cultural celebrations! Green Team Volunteers will educate attendees about the events' sustainable practices, and support attendees on questions of where and how to dispose of their waste on-site at the multi-stream waste stations. How To Register To Volunteer:

  • First, read through the Volunteer Job Descriptions and Volunteer Guidelines and Info (above).
  • Sign up using THIS LINK.
  • New users will be asked to make a Volunteer Local account before signing up for specific shifts.(If you volunteered at French Quarter Festival then you should already have an account).
  • Sign up for your desired shift(s)! You will receive a confirmation email once registered.

Here Is What To Expect:

  • Satchmo SummerFest returns as a two-day festival this year - Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd. You are welcome to sign up for shifts on both Saturday and Sunday to experience it all!
  • Each volunteer shift lasts about 3 hours and begins at one of the following three times: 11:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 5 PM, both days of Satchmo SummerFest.

 
 

 

Volunteer Perks!

  • A limited edition collectible volunteer t-shirt, featuring unique annual design, to be worn while volunteering and taken home after your shift!
  • $10 in MERCH & BEVERAGE credits, for each volunteer, per completed shift, to use at our official merchandise booth and any beverage vendor booths.
  • If you work more than one shift in a day, you will receive $10 in FOOD credits in addition to $10 in MERCH & BEVERAGE credits!
  • PRIZES and RAFFLE to win vintage Satchmo Merch packs!
  • Complimentary snacks and water throughout your shift.

Volunteer Requirements

  • All volunteers must be 16+
  • All volunteers will be required to sign a release waiver either online or at the check-in booth on the festival grounds.
  • All volunteers working in a beer or beverage booth, where alcohol is being served, must be 21+
  • Volunteers are NOT allowed to sell alcoholic beverages, this will be handled by the booth cashiers.
  • All volunteers must abide by the French Quarter Festivals, Inc. Volunteer Guidelines.
