RE(ad) TREAT

RE(ad) TREAT is an alliance of multiple justice-minded organizations in New Orleans committed to hosting a nomadic library for young people as they discover a love of reading while growing their imaginations,  flourishing emotionally, strengthening their communities, and practicing financial literacy.  The event will be held on June 19^th at the Beauregard-Keyes  (BK) House in the Quarter at 1113 Chartres Street, New Orleans, LA.  From 11:30 am – 1:30 pm Volunteers will read books with children, support with reading assessments, checking children in, and at the Reading Rewards station.  Volunteers can support with set-up at 10:30am or tear-down at 1:30pm.  Youth are partnered with Adult Volunteers so youth can read books and complete a summary of the book digitally.   Youth earn “Cha-Ching Coins” for each book they complete and redeem or save their "Cha-Ching Coins" for incentives.
