RCNO In-Person/Zoom Hybrid Meeting

I think it's time for us to begin to emulate the Rotary Club of Metairie and put together our first In-Person/Zoom hybrid meeting for the Rotary Club of New Orleans. Accordingly, on October 28, we are making arrangements to have our first Rotary Club of New Orleans Hybrid Meeting in the East Dining Room of the Southern Yacht Club overlooking beautiful Lake Pontchartrain and the historic Coast Guard lighthouse.

This first hybrid meeting will be a one-off special event. Depending on how it goes and feedback, we will decide whether to make it a regular weekly event so that we can all come together and take one small step back toward a semblance of normalcy.

A check-in table will be ready for the membership to come in, grab their Rotary Badges, and to recommence the RCNO 50-50 Raffle starting at about 11: 15. The meeting will run, as always, from 12:12 PM to 1:00 PM sharp. I assume that we will be all wrapped up and out of there not later than 1: 15 p.m.

Of course, only those who feel safe doing so should consider attending; all others can continue to participate virtually via Zoom.

Bob Oster is proceeding to purchase all of the equipment that we need and he will be working directly with Ed Gaskell at the Southern Yacht Club to get everything set up electronically well beforehand. We will have a check-in table for Tara; Bob will be managing the hybrid Zoom aspect of the meeting; we have an initial target of 50 diners; and the proposed menu will be as follows:

Three-Course Masked/Gloved Waiter-Served Luncheon:

Mixed Green Salad with Choice of Dressings

Rosemary Chicken

Roasted Brabant Potatoes

House Vegetable Du Jour

Seasonal Sorbet with Berries

Iced Tea, Water,

Coffee Service

I hope that you will all be joining me for this wonderful event, our first meeting in more than six months.
