Creating Peace by Practicing Peace

These workshops are directed toward Interact, RYLA, and Youth Exchange students, Rotaract, and Rotary members who want to increase understanding about and learn basic skills regarding conflict prevention and resolution.
During this session, participants will explore conflict in their work or school environments while considering the impact that unclear norms, rules, and procedures have and how setting the stage for getting our basic needs met will help reduce conflict. Participants will learn about difference conflict, styles and complete a conflict assessment. The role of emotions in conflict, particularly anger, will be reviewed and participants will have an opportunity to practice utilizing sample communication tools for more enhanced communication These skills can be applied in our daily lives in our homes and broader communities.
Rotary District 6310 and the Rotary Club of Midland are pleased to host this workshop, in collaboration with the Midland Chapter of the Nonviolent Peaceforce, to create increased awareness of strategies to prevent or resolve conflict.
Friday, March 24, 2017 1 pm - 4 pm for Interact, RYLA, and Youth Exchange
Saturday, March 25, 2017 9 am - 12 noon for Rotaract members
Saturday, March 25, 2017 1 pm - 4 pm for District Rotarians
There is no registration cost to participants attending the workshop, but you must register.
