As one of his key initiatives, Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta is prioritizing projects that focus on improving the health, education, well-being, and economic security of girls across the globe. Empowering girls means supporting them to ensure that their basic needs are met while working to transform the structures and institutions that reinforce and perpetuate gender discrimination and inequality.

Join this informative webinar which will showcase incredible projects and initiatives from Rotary Clubs making a real difference in the lives of girls around the world and which are Empowering Girls in areas such as health, safety, education and economic development.

Rotarians, Rotaractors and guests around the world are invited to join Zones 33/34 for this third webinar in a thought provoking series to see how Rotary Clubs Empower Girls on Thursday, May 05th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. (EDT / GMT-4 / AST)

Speakers include:

  • Kay Williamson, Rotary Club of Meriwether County and Founder and Director of Wrap Around, who will talk about about Period Poverty
  • Dan Quinn, Founder of All Study Steps Tutoring, who will share the amazing work of a group of 8 rotary clubs in Greensboro, NC that support educational efforts for children in extreme poverty and their project partnership with childrenofvietnam.org, to help girls get their education and graduate from high school
  • John Hewko, General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation who will share details on how girls in Ukraine are being supported

Equality is a fundamental human right that is necessary for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. Still, girls and women worldwide face inequities in areas including health and education, and they experience violence and poverty at higher rates than men.

The goal of this webinar series is to provide inspiration and ideas for club projects, district conference ideas, club presentation ideas and so much more.

Empowering girls aligns with Rotary’s areas of focus and the goals of our Action Plan.

We can increase our impact through projects that protect, empower, and create equity for girls.

All members and guests of the Rotary family are welcome

Register now and join us to offer more opportunities for girls to elevate their voices and articulate their views, ideas, and opinions.
