Rotaractors from ESRAG's Latin America Chapter are hosting the "World Environment Area of Focus Conference" by the hand of experience of the rotarians of the ESRAG's Latin America Chapter team (Jorge Calderon Trueba ESRAG - LATAM Chapter Chair) and ESRAG's Board.

Here are some details about the conference:

  • The registration is at www.esrag.org
  • Live translation for both english and spanish will be available.
  • We're having master lectures by UN's offices such as UNEP and UNFCCC.
  • Also master lectures and workshops from The Rotary Foundation (Regional coordinator for zone 25a Allen Sellers and Trustee Jorge Aufranc).
  • Workshops based on the ESRAG and UNEP World Environment Day Handbook projects and how to replicate them successfully.

As this will be the annual ESRAG's conference on the Environment Area of Focus, the main idea is that each year the rotaractors of a different regional chapter will host the event, so to make the decision of who'll be the lucky one we'll release a poll during a random moment of the event so attendees can vote what continent will host the next one, so for those that are interested in locally develop next year's conference it's important to attend and vote.

A concept that we're making is that the UN and Rotary's speakers are preferably from the land area of the ESRAG's regional chapter that is hosting the event, so it can be a presentation of the people that are working on the Environment at this area so outside and inside attendees can see what the locals are working on, and also this will be the annual presentation of what ESRAG is and how it's working worldwide to help the Rotary family to implement green projects (our reason to be as Rotary Action Group). Our goal as hosts is to give attendees the inspiration, information and tools to develop green projects at their communities.
