The major public launch of the new Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre was held on Tuesday, June 7, at Holy Spirit High School. This major project is a partnership between the Manuels River Natural Heritage Society and our Rotary Club plus all levels of government and the corporate sector.  A total of $4.2 million dollars in support was announced: ACOA $700,000, Provincial Government $700,000, Hibernia $1.4 million, Town of CBS $1.2 million, Avalon Northeast Rotary Club $100,000 and the MRNHS $100,000.  As well, a public fundraising campaign, whose aim is to raise an additional $2.8 million dollars, was launched.  Construction of the Centre is expected to start in this fall with completion in the fall of 2012.
