Special Recognition Award 2013

Our Club was awarded a Special Recognition Award at the District Convention held in Halifax. This prestigious Award is presented to Rotary Clubs to recognize significant service contributions to their communities. It was the only such Award presented at District Convention this year, but marks the third time our Club has been presented for this Award. The Award recognizes the work our Club has done with its major community project, the Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre, which is due to officially open in early July. Not only has the Club contributed $100,000 towards to the Project, but also hundreds of hours of volunteer time of members on various Committees. Thanks to Board member Don Sword who completed all the necessary documentation for the Award. Don and Art attended District Convention for the Award presentation. They presented the Award to Club President Ron Smith at our recent Club meeting.
