Saturday October 24th is World Polio Day and our Rotary Club has organized a QMJHL hockey game social & fundraiser. Join Rotarians, friends & family and watch the Newfoundland Regiment play the Victoriaville Tigres and help to eradicate polio! The game starts 7PM on Saturday October 24th at Mary Brown Centre. Tickets are specially priced at $20 each. That's a great price to watch our local major junior hockey team that had an extremely successful first season last year. But that's not all! $5 from each ticket sold goes to End Polio Now. It costs CDN$5 to fully immunize one child with two dozes of polio vaccine including all of the associated costs. But there's more! The Gates Foundation matches every dollar donated with 2 dollars so your $5 becomes $15. That means your $20 ticket pays for you to see the game PLUS fully immunizes THREE children! Three children will not face the risk of paralysis, or death from polio, just by buying a ticket to see a Newfoundland Regiment hockey game. |
