St. John’s, NL – The Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast will host 200 Rotarians and conference participants from across Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Saint Pierre et Miquelon at the Holiday Inn Conference Centre, St. John’s from May 24-27, 2018 for the District 7820 annual conference. The organization of the conference is shared with the other five local Rotary clubs - St. John's, St. John's Northwest, St. John's East, St. John's After Hours and Waterford Valley.

"My wife Pat and I look forward to welcoming Rotary International Presidential Representative Michael Webb, over 200 Rotarians and partners, 18 Interactors (students in Grades 9 – 12) and 13 youth exchange students from around the world to St. John’s and environs. We are particularly excited to engage in discussions related to making a difference in our communities, one’s Rotary club, and within oneself."- Don Sword, District Governor 2017-18 and member of the Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast.

The theme of the 2018 conference is "Join Leaders, Exchange Ideas and Take Action". Topics relating to Rotary and its involvement with peace, the environment, leadership, and planning will be of special focus for guest speakers and participants. Guest speakers will include: Dave Penney, Enactus Memorial, Chief Joseph Boland (RNC), Wali Shah and Kevin Tuerff.

Rotary District 7820 is comprised of 48 Rotary Clubs throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Saint Pierre et Miquelon. The Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast proudly serves the communities of Paradise and Conception Bay South, NL. This is the first time in since 2011 that a District Governor was nominated from Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast was proud to participate in the development of the CBS Monument of Honour.  This year we were delighted to receive an update and to be presented with the book dedicated to this important monument.  Thank you to all service men and women for your dedication and sacrifices.  Lest We Forget.
Come Join Us for a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship at our annual lobster dinner and auction.  The event will take place Friday June 8, 2018 at the Paradise Rotary Youth and Community Centre. 
The Rotary Club of Avalon is thrilled to welcome new member Troy Wiseman.  We already know Troy embodies 'service above self' and is making a contribution from moment one!   
Mayor Dan Bobbett joined the Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast for his annual address to Club members.  What accomplishments in 2017 and a wonderful overview of the things to come in 2018!  Thank you Mayor and for your support of the Club.
On February 23, the Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast was proud to host a bowling fundraiser to help eradicate polio on World Polio Day. We are so close!
International Peace Scholar Holly White delivered an incredible overview of her experience as a Peace Scholar in honour of Peace and Conflict Resolution Month! So proud to have Holly impart her knowledge.
RNC Chief Joe Boland addressed Club Members and provided his thoughts on community policing and safety.  A tremendous presentation and much appreciated.
In partnership with Holy Spirit High School and Rotarians from St John's area Rotary Clubs, a very successful career fair was held.  Students identified the occupations they wished to learn about and a very rewarding and informative day was had by all!  Thank you to all who participated!
The Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast was honoured to present the CBS food bank with gift cards to be included in the Christmas hampers organized and distributed by the Food Bank.  Thank you for all you do Food Bank volunteers!  You are a vital member of the fabric of our community.
President Jennifer Crummey and Board of Directors member Karen Duke participated in the Town of CBS Remembrance Day service.  Lest We Forget.
The Rotary Club honoured two outstanding members of the community - Jeannie Piercey and Eric Schibler - for their incredible service to the community of Conception Bay South.  They truly embody Rotary's motto of 'Service Above Self'.   Welcome to the distinguished club of Paul Harris Fellows! We are so proud of you both! 
Past President Rhonda Caldwell and members of the Club were grateful for the very informative presentation given by Richard Alexander, NL Employers Council.  Thank you Richard for endeavours representing the employers of NL! 
Members of the Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast were treated to the fine hospitality of the Rotary Club of St. Pierre during DG Sword's official visit to the archipelago.  What a weekend of incredible fellowship that will be forever be remembered fondly.
The Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast participated in a tree planting and ceremony at Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre in September 2017.  Members were pleased to accept the RI President's environmental challenge and planted numerous seedlings during the event. 
The Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast warmly welcomed and received a very informative address from Avalon MP Ken McDonald.  Thank you MP McDonald for your service to the community, the province and to Canada.
President Jennifer Crummey and Mayor Steve Tessier were proud to officially open the Parsons Rotary Club House in August 2017.  The Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast and the Town of Conception Bay South look forward to many more years of meaningful partnership.
