The Palmyra-Macedon Rotary Club: The club that has fun and gets things done!
Are you looking to help people in your community and abroad, make new friends and be part of a great group of like minded individuals? If so, join us for a meeting or help at one of our activities. Our club supports the objectives of Rotary International- to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world- and does it not only with our financial contributions but in the way we treat each other and others.
You can find our Rotarians:
- Distributing dictionaries to 3rd graders in the Palmyra-Macedon school district
- Distributing thesauruses' to 4th graders in the Palmyra-Macedon school district
- Cleaning up our highways and trails with our Adopt-A-Highway and Adopt-a-Trail project
- Sponsoring the Palmyra-Macedon High School Interact Club and RYLA for college-aged students
- Giving scholarships to local nursery schools each year
- Hosting a foreign exchange student through the Youth Exchange program each school year
- Hosting our Annual Murder Mystery Dinner to support Camp Onseyawa
- Annually sponsoring Camp ONSEYAWA, a camp for specially challenged kids
- Giving to Dollars for Scholars each year for Palmyra-Macedon's graduating class
- Financially supporting Rotary International with International projects such as Polio Plus - to eradicate Polio worldwide, the wheelchair project, the shelter box, the clean water project, the Malawi Children's village in Africa, and so many more
- Filling the food pantries with food and financial support
- Sponsoring the Rotary Oratorical and Vocal Contests that enable students to receive scholarships from area schools
This is only a sampling of what we do. With the many donation requests we receive each year for financial support and logging many volunteer hours, a Rotarian's life is quite fulfilling.
