Rotarian Kim Brooks invited her daughter Erin Brooks to be our guest speaker today. Erin is a PE teacher at Dundee Central School who has started her own business recycling old wooden pallets into works of art! Erin is a 2005 graduate of Pal-Mac Schools and admits to being a go getter who does not sit still much. Her goal of owning her own house by age 30 led her into her business. Erin, with no home repair training, replaced dry wall walls and plaster and lath ceilings and replaced old tired floors with pallet or plywood flooring which she made and finished herself.
Her company “She Saw Designs” creates shelves, walls and bed frames out of old pallets as well as recycling things like Mason jars and beer growlers into lighting. We were shown pictures of these and other items like tables and corn hole games she has created. Kim Clement mentioned that we could use her talents with our picnic table construction on March 24th and Erin agreed to accompany her father and help us out. If you are interested in Erin’s unique creations you can see her in September at the Purple Painted Lady Festival where she will be giving demonstrations on her craft.
