Fines, Happy Bucks, Confessions:
• Mark had happy bucks for son Dan starting at St. John Fisher today. Also Cody started his teaching job today.
• Bob Sloan caught up with happy bucks for: working on the cottage, which looks great; a family reunion; the ONSEYAWA carnival, where the kids enjoyed his new puppy more than the games he brought; first day of school; going for a run after a long hiatus.
• Bob Ike offered a happy buck for a good start to a new school year.
• Eric and Edie visited Hancock, Maryland, where they rode bikes along the Western Maryland Trail. 30 miles one day, 16 miles another day.
• Leslie said she hadn’t been to a Rotary meeting since the changeover picnic, and thanked Tom for not introducing her as a guest. She also had happy bucks for a trip to London with her kids.
• Marie pitched in a couple bucks for advertising Macedon’s Family Night, coming up on September 13 (8 pm) and the 5k walk/run in Macedon on October 4.
• Steve and Anne went for bike rides along the canal trails in Fairport and lakeside in Hammondsport.
• Peter offered advance happy bucks for a trip to Ithaca over the weekend, and his 16th wedding anniversary.
Notes and Updates for the Club:
- The club's board of directors has received and approved membership applications for Steve Stewart and Anne Stewart. This information is posted in this newsletter as required by the club's by-laws.
- Our Rotary district has two friendship exchanges in 2015: to New Zealand in February and to Nova Scotia in October. Details are available at the District website, or contact Mark or Kim Clement.
- The club’s fundraiser parking cars at the Purple Painted Lady sale on Saturday, September 20 still needs volunteers for the afternoon. Contact Dianne Sloan to sign up. - Also on September 20, there is a District Literacy Seminar from 9:30 to noon at Clifton Springs Hospital.
- The Pal-Mac Interact Club is sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, September 19, from 8-1:30 in the High School gym.
- Bob Yost invites you to attend the annual “Party on the Porch” at his home on Main Street, Saturday 9/13 during Canaltown Days.
Kim and Mark presented about the Rotary International Convention, held this year in Sydney, Australia. They showed us some pictures of Sydney and the area, as well as some of the booths set up by visiting clubs and districts. Over 20,000 Rotarians from 185 countries were in attendance. Kim and Mark had a very positive experience at the convention and encourage all Rotarians to attend one, given the opportunity. It is a great way to see the bigger Rotary picture, beyond what Rotary does within the district.
