On February 15, Palmyra-Macedon Rotary held its first annual “Sample and Sip” dessert party to benefit The Rotary Foundation. In place of our regular Wednesday daytime meeting, members (along with many friends and family members) met in the evening to share fellowship and a whole lotta dessert! Thanks to the efforts of Kim and Mark Clement, Melinda Meyer, and the many generous bakers and bidders, our club was able to raise over $750 in one evening, which was donated to The Rotary Foundation. Thanks to Breen’s Supermarket and Hasseltine Liquor for their generous donations of some of the beverages for the event.

Participants baked one dessert for attendees to sample (and there was a lot of sampling) and one dessert to auction off. What a great evening, and what a great way to raise money for such a great cause. We were even treated to music from Rotarian John Denniston’s band, Eva and Dog Boys. Rotarian Jim Bush even put on a spontaneous magic show for the kids!
