Exchange Student Update:

Mila brought in a recent English essay of which she was very proud, having scored 19 out of 20.  Thursday was to be senior night and her last swim meet.  She invited all of us to come and see her “try not to sink.”

Birthdays, Anniversaries:

Pat VerPlank has a birthday Thursday the 18th;
Dianne had her first 39 th birthday of the 16th;
John’s new granddaughter had her first birthday yesterday;
Dicks grandson is getting married Saturday and the 20th.

Fines, Happy Bucks, Confessions:

- Nancy’s son shot a bear, prompting a happy buck from her; she’s glad the bear did not get him.
- Mark offered a buck for his 3-days in the Adirondacks; this is 39 years he’s been going.
- Kim had a happy buck in honor of a weekend all to herself.
- Eric offered a happy buck for the Bills’ win against Arizona.
- Tom again had offsetting bucks this week.  The Texans lost and the Bills won, so his world is upside-down, but on the upside, he is recovering very quickly from his Bell’s Palsy after only 10 days.
- Chase had a buck because he was happy to be back with us.  He also confessed to 2 weeks in Hawaii.
- Gene announced that he had heard from the Yankees, and they said that Bob Yost would be pitching tonight.
- Pam confessed to a trip to Europe with Bill.  Having had the exempt button for September, she parted with a few bucks for the October portion of her trip.

Notes and Updates for the Club:

• Our annual Christmas dinner will be held December 19 at Parkwood Heights in Macedon.  More details will follow.
• The Murder Mystery Dinner is tentatively scheduled for February 16
• Dictionaries and Thesauruses have arrived.  We are still working on a date for distribution.
• The Wayne County Fair Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle is Saturday, November 3 from 4 – 8pm at the Palmyra Fire Hall.  Kim still has plenty of tickets available for you to purchase or sell.
• Vicky reminds us all that any political campaign signs must be on your own property, not in the village right-of-way.  If you have signs, please be sure they are on your side of the sidewalk.

Dave Read won $9 in the 50/50 raffle, which he donated to the Finger Lakes Museum.

A couple of corrections of last week’s crier are in order.  Dan Wooden is not CEO of the Fair board; he is Code Enforcement Officer (CEO) for Palmyra.  Also, Nancy won eleven dollars in the 50/50, not one dollar as reported.
