Notes and Updates for the Club:

• The sign-up sheet for the Christmas party went around again today, and will be available next Wednesday the 5 th.  A final count needs to be turned in after that.
• Sign-ups for Bell-Ringing at Breen’s went around today as well.  That event is pretty well booked up.  If any spots remain open or become open, Cindy will send e-mail looking for people to step up and fill in.
• As you may know, our club’s website address is rather cumbersome and not easily remembered.  This makes it difficult to direct people to our site.  We now have a new domain name which directs to our clubrunner site but is easier to remember and to use in any publications.  The new address is www.palmacrotary.org
• At our club meeting on November 7th, we passed a jug to raise money for victims of “Super-Storm Sandy.”  We collected $150, and the club’s Board of Directors voted to match that with club funds.  Dianne sent a check for $300 to District 7490 in New Jersey, where it will be disbursed to local clubs to help provide relief.
• Gary Haigh is stepping back from his role as coordinator of the Dictionary Project.  He was the person who contacted the school to determine the number of students to receive books.  He then ordered the books, held a “sticker party” to get our labels in them, and made arrangements with the school for delivery.  If that sounds like a fun project to you, please contact Dianne as the position will be available.
• Speaking of fun projects, we will also have an opening for Programs Coordinator.  Debbie LeMoyne has done a fantastic job lining up speakers for the past several years, but has decided to step down.  Recently, we have gone back to assigning members to specific dates, asking them to coordinate with Debbie.  If riding herd on the members sounds appealing to you, contact Dianne to volunteer.
• At our December 12 meeting, the proposed candidates for the 2013-2014 board of directors will be presented for approval by the club.
• Leslie reports that the Interact Club’s dog rescue project was a big success.  They collected enough supplies to fill 2 cars, and they will likely make this an annual event.
• The Fair’s spaghetti dinner raised over $4,000 which will go toward the construction of the new booth.
• Our annual Foundation Dessert Auction will be Wednesday, January 16 at Parkwood Heights, in the evening.  This event will be instead of our regular noon meeting that day.
• The 3rd annual Murder Mystery dinner will Saturday, February 2.  There will be no club meeting the following week.

Keeper-of-the-Pins Gene Bassage presented some perfect attendance pins today:  Dave Pray – 7 yrs, Cheryl Ford - 22 yrs, Margaret Brooks – 22 yrs, Dick Kirchhoff – 24 yrs, Gene Bassage – 54 yrs. Congratulations to all.

Our monthly auction this week raised $68 for the Rotary Foundation.

Bob Yost won the 50/50 and donated the $14 to the Fair Booth fund.
