On this day in History:
On November 11, 1918 at 11:00 am, an armistice went into effect, ending World War I.  In 1938, “Armistice Day” became a federal holiday, observed on the 11th of November each year, to honor those who served in that “war to end all wars.”  In 1954, the US having endured World War II and the Korean War, the holiday was changed to “Veterans Day” to honor all veterans of all wars.

Please remember the following in your thoughts and prayers:
Dave Morrell is at DeMay for rehab after his double-knee replacement.
Lea Ann’s surgery went well and she is recovering.

What’s New With Sofia?
She says she didn’t do much this past week.  She has decided not to do cheering this term, instead trying out for the musical – “The Addams Family”.  She went with the Medinas and raked leaves for neighbors, which was fun but tiring.  Also, she no longer wears the boot on her foot!

Birthdays and Anniversaries:
Today is Maurina Schmidt’s birthday.

Singing:
To honor our veterans, we sang “God Bless America / God Bless Our Veterans”.

Fines, Happy Bucks and Confessions:
• Mary Courtney offered a buck apiece for her two sons.  Ted was promoted this past weekend to Private First-Class, and Dan started an additional job doing overnight shifts in the Wayne County ALS Fly-Car.
• Brad Pearson had a dollar each for his stepfather, both grandfathers, his brother and himself - all veterans, in thanks for their service to their country.
• Andy had an anniversary, bought a new truck, and is taking a trip.  He threw himself at the mercy of President Mark for fines.
• Dave Read put in “Veteran Bucks” for himself, his son Peter (retired Air Force) and Peter’s wife Cathy (retired Navy), son-in-law Ted Kuppinger (Army reserve), and Mary’s son Teddy (Army National Guard).
• Kim had a “Veteran Buck” for son Dan, who served for 6 years in the Coast Guard.  She also had a happy buck, because she and Mark will be driving down to pick up their granddaughter Sophia to visit for a bit.
• Bob Yost offered “Veteran Bucks” for his son Nate who served in the Marine Corps and his dad.  He also had a couple happy bucks for the Bills game he attended with Eric.
• Dick Kirchhoff offered 5 happy bucks to honor his mother, who had 5 sons all in the service at the same during World War II.  When asked if they all made it home safe, Dick said yes, but that “one got wounded; he didn’t move fast enough!”
