Fines and Happy Bucks:
- Bob Sloan thanked members for all their efforts to make for a very successful District 7120 Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 10.
- Anne Morrell attended the Rotary International Conference in Atlanta, which she called an “awesome” experience. While there, Anne learned that a Rotary Club’s hosting of a Foreign Youth Exchange student counts as a Club International Project.
- Maurina Schmidt donated a happy buck in honor of her nephew’s graduation from Hope Hall in Gates.
- Gary Hopkins also gave a happy buck for daughter, Ashlyn’s, graduation from Pal-Mac High School. She also received a P-M Dollars for Scholars award. Congratulations!
Rotary Announcements:
This week marked the last time our Exchange Student, Julia, will be with us for a regular meeting this year. Soon after the changeover picnic, she will embark with other Rotary Exchange students for their “around the U.S.” bus tour before returning home to Belgium. Rotarian Dianne Sloan presented Julia with a Pal-Mac Rotary duffel bag (photo attached) for her send-off gift.
There will be NO MEETING on Wednesday, July 5, due to the Fourth of July holiday.
President Kim presented the slate of officers and directors for the year 2017-18 for a vote of the members present, according to the Club by-laws. The members unanimously approved the following officers: President, Gary Hopkins; President-Elect, Leslie Vecchiotti; Vice-President, TBD; Secretary, Joan Shaffer; Treasurer, Margaret Brooks; Sergeant-At-Arms, Mark Clement. Elected to fill vacancies on the Club Board of Directors were Vicky Daly, Gary Haigh and Pat VerPlank. The new member to serve on the Club Foundation BOD will be Marie Fessler.
President Kim, who has served for the past eight years as head of the Club’s annual Fair Booth fundraising effort, is looking for a new “BB” to take over beginning in August. If you would be interested in serving your Club in this important capacity, please let Kim know ASAP.
