Our guest speaker today was Ken Miller, Palmyra's Town Supervisor.  Ken has been the Supervisor for 5 years.  As Supervisor, he sits on two boards.  At the town level, he is one of 5 members of the town council.  Each of the 5 members has an equal voice on that board.  At the county level, Ken is part of the county Board of Supervisors.  This body consists of the supervisors of each of the 15 towns in Wayne County.  At that level, Ken serves on the Finance committee, as well as Economic Development, and Public Works.  Ken also gave us some information on the creation of the town's $3.2 million budget and the process involved.  For example, three separate public hearings are needed for the fire district budgets, because the town contracts with fire departments from Palmyra (village), Port Gibson, and East Palmyra.
Congratulations and thanks to Dick Kirchhoff, winner of this week’s 50/50 drawing.  He won $12, which he donated to Polio Plus.
