Guest speaker Kathy Denniston, guest of Vicky Daly updated our members about some of the history of Meals on Wheels and its broad impact on Wayne County's population in need.  This organization started in 1973 and has been delivering home-style meals to people for all that time.  Beginning as a grass-roots effort, over the years some local an d federal government assistance such as "Snapgrants" have allowed for enhanced services to more people.  It has always been a volunteer driven effort and volunteers are always needed.  If you have even an hour or two per month to share with the other 250 happy, dedicated volunteers who delivered meals to some 560 people last year alone, you will find the rewards beyond your expectations.  Walworth recently opened up a program.  if interested in helping you can call (3150 946-5623 or go to http.//www.mealsonwheelswaynecountyny.org
