Our own Past President Cindy Surline spoke to us today about the Ralph Cator Trust.  This trust was created to honor the last wishes of Palmyra resident Ralph Cator.  Mr. Cator bequeathed money to the Palmyra Ambulance, but PVA disbanded.  The court allowed the money to go into a trust to help the residents of Palmyra with medical needs.  Cindy sits on the board, along with representatives from the Lions Club and the American Legion.  Paul Rubery is the board president.  Last year, the Cator trust helped to provide automated external defribillators for the Palmyra area.  The board is currently seeking proposals/requests for medical needs in the town and village of Palmyra.  The trust’s charter is very specific, in that any project must be for Palmyra only.  This limits its ability to work with the schools, for example, because the district overlaps Macedon, and funding for the benefit of Macedon residents would need to be secured separately.  If you know of a need or have a suggestion, Cindy would be happy to hear about it.
