Fines, Happy Bucks, Confessions:
• Nancy confessed that she went to the Legion today before realizing we were at Parkwood this week.
• Dave Pray’s father was in hospital over the weekend, but the happy buck is offered because his father is fine.
• Wynette gave a happy buck for the nice write-up in the Wayne Post about the Searles’ donation of an historic main street photo to Historic Palmyra.
• Dianne told us of her encounter with the “dreadmill.”  It seems that, unbeknownst to her but knownst to the treadmill, her model had been recalled due to sudden changes in speed.   As was bound to happen her treadmill sped up and caused her to trip.
• Tom Breen tells us that rehearsals for the Murder Mystery Dinner are going well.

Notes and Updates for the Club:

The district vocal contest results are finally in.  There were 25 contestants.  Unfortunately, none of our contestants finished in the top 3.  However, all indicated that they were grateful for the experience.
The annual Murder Mystery Dinner takes place at the VFW Saturday, February 16 th at 6pm.
Our regular club meeting on March 13 will be an evening meeting at the American Legion in Palmyra.  A sign-up sheet will be passed around at a future meeting, so that we can make a more accurate estimate for the dinner count.  This is part of an effort to attract new members by having one evening event each month.  If you know someone who might be interested in meeting us, please invite them along.
Our recent dessert auction for the Rotary Foundation raised a total of $600.  This money will be sent in to the general fund, in the names of those who bid at auction.  The club already sent in $190 in October for the “Every Rotarian, Every Year” campaign ($5 for each member).  Those Rotarians who attended the dessert auction paid their $5 at that time.  If you were unable to attend, please try to make up the $5 at your earliest convenience.
The Sodus Rotary Club would like you to know about an upcoming fundraiser concert featuring Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out.  The Bluegrass performers appear at the Sodus Central School Auditorium March 23.  Tickets are $20 and available at the Sodus Rotary website: http://www.sodusrotary.org/events/
Our annual joint Lions/Rotary meeting will take place on April 16.  Details to follow – watch this space!
“Early” registration for the District Conference in Lake Placid has been extended to February 15, so there is still time to get that discount.
The District Assembly is scheduled for April 13 at the Red Jacket High School in Shortsville.  There is no charge for any member of our club to attend this informative event.

We had some fierce bidding at this month’s Foundation Auction:
- Dianne Sloan picked up a bottle of Wine for $10.
- Dave Pray snatched up the other bottle for $10 and went on to win a “Cuddle-Up with Someone Special Basket” for $9.
- Joan won the bid on a set of football-shaped drinking glasses.
- Kim got the second set for $8.
- Bob Ike’s winning bid of $10 got him a “Super Bowl Party Pack.”

Thanks to all who donated items for the auction this month.  If you have something you’d like to put up for auction for the Foundation, please contact Joan.  To date, our Foundation Auctions have raised almost $350 for the Foundation.

Gary Hopkins won the Exempt button for February with a bid of $5.00 and Joan won $9 in the 50/50 drawing, which nicely covered her winning bid at the auction.
